Lake Tahoe isn't just "blue sky"

Three exciting new real estate developments are slated for South Lake Tahoe, just past the Stateline corridor. In a conscious effort to keep Tahoe "blue" all of the projects are going "green".

Just last week, Sierra Colina Village, situated on 18 lushly wooded acres was approved for 50 residential high quality homes and will be seeking Platinum certification through the US Green Building Council.

Across Highway 50 is the soon to be built Tahoe Beach Club development which received the green light several months ago. Boasting exclusive waterfront and lakeview condominiums and estate homes, it will offer residents and visitors a beautiful sandy beach, pool, dock, and, of course, full Beach Club membership.

The neighboring world-class Edgewood Golf Club is the next on the docket. Their plans include construction of a 200+ room upscale lodge. Golf course architect Tom Fazio is consulting on the renovation of this premier West Coast golf facility.

Let me know whether you're into "blue sky" or "greener pastures".

  1. Greener Pastures!

Here, Here! To the brave souls that dared venture through the costly and simply daunting task of bringing high quality development to Lake Tahoe.

I completely believe in preserving and improving our environment. I also believe in doing it while allowing mankind to coexist in it!

For many years, Lake Tahoe has been bullied by a very vocal minory of NIMBY residents and out-of-towners. How refreshing to see them put aside to allow the inclusion of these new projects into our great basin.

It's time to remember the folly of isolationism learned so many years ago in the U.S. We need to incorporate growth with our green environmental improvements.

Leaving Lake Tahoe to be reduced to detritus by the stagnation of time would be so very wrong. I for one am happy to welcome the new projects that may indeed propel Lake Tahoe into the marvelous picture that is already enjoyed in vivacious towns like Vail, Aspen, and Breckenridge.

My hat is off to the families that worked so very hard to bring Lake Tahoe out of the past and now toward a healthier and greener future.
